About Painting for Miracles
Each Fall, a very special project
takes place in the arts community to benefit the Children’s
Miracle Network at UC Davis Children’s Hospital. Artists have the opportunity to return
to their non-techy “roots” by picking up a paintbrush,
and a great time is had by all. This year, we want YOU
- artists and non-artists alike - to be involved in continuing
the successful project we call Painting for Miracles. In 2009, we raised $20,000 of which 100% goes
to benefit this worthwhile charity. This
year is the 6th Annual.
Your participation directly
benefits the sick and injured children of our community.
UC Davis Children’s Hospital provides state-of-the-art
medical care, life-saving research and preventative education
for children 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This hospital serves all of Northern California, Southern Oregon and Western Nevada. The advancements in medicine and care discovered at this hospital are shared worldwide, so this is much more than a regional event.
At Painting for Miracles, we share stories from The Children’s
Miracle Network with local artists who interpret their
thoughts through art. The artists all paint (or undertake
some other art form, of the artists choice) together at
ZAP Creative Group. 304 N 12th Street in Sacramento. The
2010 paint weekend runs from September 10th - 12th, beginning
on Friday afternoon and ending whenever you’re done on
Sunday. We provide food and drinks to keep those creative
minds flowing as well as the paint and boards!
Each artist has a sponsor. As a sponsor you are welcome
to come down and watch the painting. If you have an artist who
you’d like to sponsor, that’s great too. Sponsors are allowed
to keep their painting or donate it back into the silent
auction, held two weeks after paint days. The show and
auction will be held on September 25th.
As a community sponsor, you’ll be associated with a first
class organization and a premiere charity. Every year,
Children’s Miracle Network hospitals treat 17 million children
for every disease and injury imaginable. Children’s Miracle
Network hospitals impact the lives of more children than
any other children’s organization in the world. UC Davis
Children’s Hospital is committed to providing the best
care for children when they need it. This year’s campaign
will be fun and worthwhile as we proceed to invest our
efforts to reach our goal of $25,000+.
